Self-taught creative spirit, whose production lies in an intermediate territory between pictorial expression and the practice of sculpture, Boccò creates multi-material works with a minimalist design, through plastic manipulation, on wooden mediums and canvas.

An emotional painting whose momentum is expressed through the poetic movement of the hands that shape its forms towards a simple, almost essential aesthetic, not devoid of valuable elements.

The use of chalks and clays is accompanied by natural elements whose chromatic scale ranges from the graduation of white tones towards more sandy and earthy colours. These preferences derive from the territories that she “practices” on a daily basis and from which she draws inspiration: the coast where she spends hours in silence, listening to the waves that rush impetuously and on the rocks or on the shoreline; the marine habitat that never ceases to provide stimulation and which over time has seen the landscape change and redesign.

“From season to season, we witness a change in our territories. I say “ours” in emotional terms, never in terms of possession. They are the home of my fondest memories and as each year passes, not only do they vary in geographical structure due to the incessant work of the waves, but at times they disappear, risking being erased forever. What doesn’t change, however, are the sensations that these territories convey. I feel a certain urgency in representing them, an incessant creativity and a desire to pay homage to them, before anyone forgets, so as not to forget where we were happy.”

Even the choice of certain materials expresses the desire to remain linked to the natural context and devoted to the element of water, a vital force which, both as a thought and as a means of realization, is confirmed as primary in the genesis of his works.

Experimenting over time with different techniques, colors and materials, moving from “fresco” painting or on bare walls to mobile supports, he arrives at a minimalist aesthetic, abandoning himself to a synthesis and refinement matured over time. The reduction to the essential elements and particular attention to visual harmony pushes the observer to immerse themselves in the very essence of the work. The simplicity and cleanliness of the textures combines the use of sand, fragments of rock and crystal, glass and salts, achieving interesting textures and depths. This use adds a tactile and spatial dimension to the works, helping to create a unique artistic experience of one’s repertoire. Furthermore, they react in a unique way to light variations, benefiting in particular from natural light, which gives them depth and intensity, creating a more intimate connection with those who observe them and reaffirming the connection of the works with the natural world.

Conveying emotions through art is the ultimate goal to which the artist’s sensitivity is devoted. A leitmotif that leads to the creation of different and twin works, with an impetuous but gentle soul that capture the changing and at the same time eternal essence of nature. This is why for his works he seeks not only collectors but custodians who will take care of them, to weave together a common feeling. Sometimes the most relevant environment in which to observe them is the large space of a gallery, with white and bright surfaces, allowing yourself time to exercise your gaze; other times, the intimate wall of the house, to remember to stop, at times, and exist in the present moment.

A hymn to the celebration of the moment of maximum splendor which, fleeting and ephemeral, has already passed but has not lost its value; a warning to reclaim the present time and declare:

“I am here, I have been here – and I have seen this time, this territory, change and remain the same, as indeed happened to me – and so I celebrate it, for as long as I have the chance”.

Puro is the name of his first collection: a series of works “mixed” with chalk and sea water, salt and fragments of rocks. This series is dedicated to her first daughter from whom he draws strength and inspiration.

It is the artist’s desire for you to have a total and all-encompassing experience of her artworks: from a first visual impact, which through plays of light never reveals itself to be the same, to the tactile experience, more intimate and inclusive, which results in the realm of sensations, memories, up to that of the imagination. Beyond the eye: this is how Boccò conceives and recommends the experience of her art: colours, sensations, memories, sounds and why not, even perfumes: saltiness, sea breeze, essence of freedom. As in an experience in the dark, blindfolded, in order to perceive art in a different way. An invitation, even for those who cannot see, to explore through the other senses, for an intimate feeling.
